I note at least six indisputably false claims in one tiny little post. Impressive.

The leaders of the major WW2 powers were in some shape or form leftists. FDR/Churchill (Fabian Socialists)

I have to ask this.

Are you that idiot?

The leaders of the major WW2 powers were in some shape or form leftists. FDR/Churchill (Fabian Socialists) Hitler (Nationalist Socialism) Stalin(Communism) so indeed Nazism is emphatically left wing. In fact, Hitler got some of his ideas from American Progressives/Racial Supremists. That's why Hitler loved the idea of eugenics.

This might be the dumbest thing ever posted on this board.

Beet can infract this if he wants, it needs to be said.  It's just that dumb.

What defines a fabian socialist, and hwo was Churchill one?

Fabianism is a variety of late-19th early-20th century socialist thought that called for gradual, slow democratic change to a socialist/social democratic society, rather than revolutionary change called for by Marxist movements.  People like Shaw were Fabians.

Churchill was most definitely not a Fabian or any other sort of socialist.  At all.  Much to the contrary.  He went through several ideologies and parties, but never that.

EDIT: My first sentence should not be construed as to say that it was only a late-19th/early 20th century movement, just that that's when it got started.

Was Churchill a Trotskyite-Yes. In America we call them neocons
Was Churchill for global governance under a socialist system- he was
Was Churchill for wealth redistribution- Yes

All these things are planks of Fabian Socialism. Other Fabians include Obama, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown

I agree with NotLibertas.  Churchill was a commie rat who would've been in bed with the New Deal had FDR still had feeling in that region.

Well, first of all, Churchill was a Tory old-school reactionary, and anyone who claims he was economically anywhere close to socialism, needs immediate help from mental institutions.

Second of all, neocons are, in large part, former trotskyists and please, show me any proof that Churchill was anywhere close to trockyism.

Read what lewrockwell.com has to say on this before you resort to the lefty attacks.

I'm sorry I'm not going to take knowledge from the guy who tried to ally American libertarians with Patrick Buchanan of all people seriously.
And as for lefty attacks.......

He did?

Anyway, they might have the same foreign policy views, but radically differ on Culture War, abortion, social views, etc. Plus, it is general believed the Buchanan is a (not so) closet racist.

Mikado, see what I mean about a high-quality board?

I'd be all in favor.  A discussion subboard where "mind-numbing stupidity" was a violation would go a long way.

(Frankly, I'd go so far as to make it a general rule, but we could never get away with it)

Trotskyite Churchill is probably the funniest mental image that has popped into my head today. Thank you, good sir, for providing me with that delightful thought.

None, save for those with the most warped view of reality, would come even remotely close to agreeing with a statement as ridiculous as that.

If Dick Cheney were in a grave, I'd propose putting his grave next to Leon Trotsky's, repeating that statement, and do a contest to see which one rolls over faster.

My mental image is Churchill at a Red Army parade, with the Hymn of the Soviet Union playing.
