Simple as the question above.
With the rabid Tea Party wing of the GOP screaming for impeachment, and worse--Which I think makes for a much more politically heated climate than even the Clinton years--do any of you see the GOP at the very least TRYING to impeach Obama if they gain a majority this November? It doesn't have to happen immediately; It could happen anytime between January of next year and January 2013 or 2017.

Of course not. I doubt most Tea Party candidates even support that.

I don't think we've gotten the full story on the whole Tony Rezko/Blago/Jackson Jr./Jarrett/SEIU thing yet, but then again we might not ever.

There's a difference between them and the Congress.

Although, last semester, some local doctor called me up asking the College Republicans would help him pass out "Impeach Obama" stickers.  I told him I'd talk it over with the group, hoping that he'd just forget about me.  Unfortunately he didn't, so I ended up telling him that we didn't think Obama had done anything that warranted impeachment.  He went on and on for a good 20 minutes about how he was ruining the economy with his stimulus plans and his bailouts and blah blah blah.  I would've engaged in debate with him saying that none of those were "high crimes or misdemeanors," but I had something to do and was already trying to get off the phone with him.  I did tell him he could call our "rival" group at the time... they were more fringe and full of crazies.  Grin

The problem is some of them are running for Congress, and some are already there.  The GOP is moving further and further into the land of extremism, so nothing would really surprise me at this point.

Well, if you're asking, will we have a Dennis Kucinich-esque attempt at impeachment?  Sure, it's possible.  Will we have a legitimate attempt (I'm talking even just 15+ representatives)? No.

I'm sure the teabaggers will try it for some bullsh**t about healthcare reform "Obamacare" being "unconstitutional" or whatever, but I don't think the leadership would go along with it.

That said, expect a repeat of the Clinton years on every other level. Probes of all kinds of nonsense, a government shutdown, etc, etc.

What has he done that's even remotely impeachment worthy?

Besides being an illegitimate, foreign-born, crypto-muslim, terrorist sympathizer?

Signing and unconstitutional law isn't grounds for impeachment.

^^^^^^^

And Vepres, polls show something like 40% of Republicans support impeaching him. A good chunk of the GOP base would want him removed from office just because they don't believe he is even Constitutionally eligible.

Good thing we don't have direct democracy.

Tell that to Lisa Murkowski and Mike Castle.
