Let's say Clinton is angry enough after the Democrats' ugly nomination battle that she agrees to become McCain's running mate.  What do you think the results would be?

I agree with your map, except I think Delaware would vote Democratic (it would be close, though).

Yes.

A lot of Hillary voters initially changed their mind because of McCain's female running mate.  If Hillary herself was on McCain's ticket, it would have been a blowout.  Especially since Hillary is a much more polished figure than Palin and can't possibly be accused of being any sort of "right-wing extremist."

Yes.

A lot of Hillary voters initially changed their mind because of McCain's female running mate.  If Hillary herself was on McCain's ticket, it would have been a blowout.  Especially since Hillary is a much more polished figure than Palin and can't possibly be accused of being any sort of "right-wing extremist."

Ok, what about the Republican Party? Wouldn't they have been about as angry about John McCain choosing Hillary, as they were about the possibility of McCain choosing Lieberman? I would expect some sort of Independent candidacy that might be able to get 5% of the vote or more.
