If there is a desire for it, we could move to a simulated system of election, and even a simulated parliament.

I'm in favor of this, at least for our start.

I will detail tonight what this would mean - I do however still want to leave room for more registrations until then.

I'd certainly like simulated elections. Could you expand on what you mean by "a simulated parliament", Teddy?

There are two basic models to running a PolSim. One is based on the concept of OMOV (One Member, One Vote) another is based on the concept of simulation.

Atlasia is a OMOV system. Each player in the game gets one ballot and each ballot is of equal weight.

Simulated systems allow the simulators to have nearly infinite ballots.

A simulated Parliament would mean that each player is one (1) MP in the House of Commons, but the house has it's full 308 members. The remaining 300 or so members would be simulated by the simulators / Game Masters, based on the inputs of the players of the game. IE a player would serve as party leader, and his MP's would generally do what he tells them to do, but should he do something radical, they can revolt, etc.

Personally I do not like the idea of a simulated parliament as there already is such a game running here: http://rxr.ridingbyriding.ca/ and I am not all that keen on competing with it. Feel free to sign up there though, as we are slowly in the process of a reset.

I will see to it that it does even if I have to appoint the first batch of Senators. And If I do that BTW I'll be appointing 2 Tories, 2 Grits, and a Dipper.

If I read my people right...

Barnes (Liberal)
homelycooking (Liberal)
Sewer (NDP)
Libertas (Conservative)
Dr. Cynic (NDP)
tmthforu94 (Conservative)

Libertas and Sewer are two people in particular I am interested seeing in the Senate.

They'd be eliminated for now for clarity. After a set deadline, though, people could start whatever the hell parties they want.

If I had to appoint today, I'd appoint the following:

Barnes (Liberal) - I suggest the Prairies for you
homelycooking (Liberal) Senator from the Atlantic
Sewer (NDP) Senator from the NorthWest
Libertas (Conservative) Senator from Quebec
Dr. Cynic (NDP) - I suggest the NorthWest for you
tmthforu94 (Conservative) Senator from the Prairies
Hashemite (NDP) - I suggest Ontario for you
Hatman (NDP) Senator from Ontario

But of course I hope more will sign up Tongue
I'm just giving you an example of what I mean about having diverse opinions and ideologies in the Senate if I am going to appoint. I want to spark debate!

Until we get rolling, I'd like to force everyone to be in one of the "big three" parties.

Once we do get going the ban on creating new parties will be lifted!

Alright, that's fine.

So, if we're playing in the Senate, there will be no House of Commons, right?

I'd not have a problem with serving in the NW. The NDP was a western party if I remember my history. Yukon?
