Do you think you could like bands like Ampere if drunk enough? I have admitted to liking rap and bad dance music when wasted for example.

Drunk people usually like music that they can actually sing along too. That's probably why you like rap and dance music when you're drunk. I can't imagine a drunk person managing to "sing" along with Ampere. It's just a bunch of noise and screaming.

There were plenty of drunk people dancing and singing along at Dudefest. Seeing a bunch of people taking shots while singing along to a cover of "Straightedge" at the after party was truly a sight to behold.

Also this sucks, it sounds like heavy metal.

You are wrong. It is not in any way even remotely metal and I'm sure any actual metalhead would feel insulted to have it called as such.

Also for an example of people dancing and singing along to a Dudefest band, see about 1:13 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZADoRqDFV0

1-It's fun.
2-It's a great workout.

Anyone who bashes this stuff has never been in the middle of a pit before. It is a lot of fun.

Just like alcohol could never make Janet Reno attractive, it could never make that shit sound good.  It has its limitations.

I hate emo when I'm drunk. It's totally the wrong genre. What greater a buzzkill could come from listening to Mineral or Christine Front Drive. Indian Summer - Orchard might sound cool tho

LOL, there's a valid point there. My drinking patterns at shows is like this:

Light indie rock/emo bands like mentioned above - Very little, if anything. Seeing Rocky Votalato on Thursday and even though alcohol is served I don't see myself drinking.
Melodic hardcore (like A Wilhelm Scream) and indieish melodic punk bands (like the Lawrence Arms) - A little bit. These shows are often all ages though, so I'd have to go to a bar and even though there is usually one nearby I don't like missing the show.
Hardcore/crust/grind/screamo - Quite a bit, but only to the point of buzzed usually
Standard punk (like Dillinger Four)/Punkish/garage indie rock (like The Thermals) - WASTED

And Orchard would be cooler high than drunk.

Dude, Red, have you properly listened to Black Metal? Ampere's vocals remind me eerily of it. Probably why I hate the genre.

But since I've never been drunk, I have no idea what sh**t I'd listen to while under the influence of being smashed.

Ampere's music is nothing like black metal aside from the vocals, though. It's like suggesting that someone might like Arch Enemy because they like Screamin' Jay Hawkins.

Maybe if I was drunk enough I would think they were chicks who have dyed their hair black and cut themselves rather than just being guys who have dyed their hair black and cut themselves who kind of look like chicks. So probably not. Cutting is a turn off. Also, the whining.

Most of it I find insufferable adolescent whining, it's all about singing the same way, dressing the same way, applying eyeliner the same way.

Don't mind 30 Seconds to Mars... but they probably don't count?

It's an offshoot of hardcore.
