I know it's still three weeks away....but still.

I'm hoping that we can use the Atlas Forum chatroom which Teddy created (I think), since the forum might be a tad slower than usual....

Not sure yet. I'll probably vote during the day and then I'll either be hanging out with my crazy libertarian friend or I'll be on here and watching PBS and MSNBC or I'll be doing homework for my classes the next day because I successfully procrastinated quite a bit. I really wish I was off the next day!

Really don't know. Plan to take off work and spend the day canvassing though.

I've got a midterm the next day. I'll probably spend the day studying for that and then chill in my room until pretty late (I won't start getting returns from back home until midnight or so and won't be able to go to bed until I see them).

The College Democrats will probably do some sort of election night event but it'll be depressing and full of tools so I'll skip it.

BRTD will probably be quite pleased to more than likely have a DFL governor again.

What would be a good election night alcoholic beverage? Obviously forties was the appropriate drink on election night 2008 but 2010 obviously won't be like that...

I kind of feel bad for not partying on election night in 2008. I watched that at my mom's house. What a waste.

Stay up until 4 or 5 in the morning when the first results start coming in. Probably alcohol will be involved.

Well, I'll be up at 5:30 in the morning and will likely be up 24 hours. I'm working from 5:30 AM until 8 PM and then headed to three parties. I'm sure you all can guess one of the parties.  Wink

I have 2 weeks off from work now, then work a few days incl. Election Day and took the Wednesday off from work again, so that I can stay up the whole Election Night.

So what will I do on Election Day ?

Work from 9 am to 6.30 pm, go home and sleep for the next 6 hours and tune in my TV (and recorder) to start the election returns with Indiana being called for Dan Coats (R-pickup) ... Wink

Well, you got the first one right.  Wink  Corbett (our Gubernatorial nominee) is having his party in Pittsburgh so I won't be going out there. The other two are local events.

My plans for an election night... I'll sit, watch some coverage, look at the forum, get depressed, and then there's going to be a though: "hey, U.S. is not my country after all".

I'll be working the polls for one of the local Republican candidates. After that, I considered attending a political rally, but would rather just stay home so I can see results nationwide. Given that Washington will take forever, it will probably be a long night for me. Wink

All of the fun is had in watching the results as they come in, at least for me (depressing as most of them might be on this occasion).

Meh, there's no reason to really be depressed either. There'll be plenty of nights in the future that the Democrats make big gains in. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.

"The genetically vicious nature of presidential campaigns in America is too obvious to argue with, but some people call it fun, and I am one of them. Election Day -- especially a presidential election -- is always a wild and terrifying time for politics junkies, and I am one of those, too. We look forward to major election days like sex addicts look forward to orgies. We are slaves to it."
