It's surreal to see a prominent Republican say something half-sensible on economic issues, really.
Yeah, cause stealing more money from hardworking Americans equals "sensible"....
Definitely.
Because we can all just by guns and shoot criminals that try to break into our houses. And build our own roads. And hire private tutors to educate our children. And staff our own fire stations. And....
Yes, actually we can do all those things, and have done every single one of those things not all that long ago.
Uh, just fyi, there was a
reason we stopped doing alot those things.. There were horrible instances of private fire departments placing profit over individuals' safety. Our education system was a mess, and if you were in a poor area, forget it. Our infrastructure was woefully inadequate, and when we left building railways completely up to large corporations to do it themselves, they overworked their employees to death and
shot people willy-nilly.
Do you have a history book handy? Beat yourself in the face with it. This desire to go back to the "good old days" is asinine. There's a reason we stopped doing stuff we did then. It sucked. Same thing counts for a ton of other things, especially economic policy.
