When did he almost cry? I didn't think that went poorly at all.

I was thinking the same thing, I kept waiting, but I saw nothing close anyone crying.

I don't think he was literally going to cry, he just looked foolish by repeating the same things and looking like he had no clear answers at all.

So if that is making Jack Conway cry, Rand Paul's bad interviews must be like him literally bleeding all over the camera screen

No one cried, but that was a disasterous media appearance to be sure.

If a bad interview could finish off somebody's campaign then the Republicans would be out of candidates by now.

Watching the "Aqua Buddha" portion of the debate, Conway had the look of the defeated candidate who is going through the motions with all of his strength to complete his campaign. He knows it's a Hail Mary.

It saddens me that candidates are willing to personally degrade themselves, in a delusional belief that maybe it will "work."  Even if it works, it's wrong. You know, sometimes it just isn't worth winning if one has any personal respect for themselves.

Who thought Conway ever had a chance to win?

There was a window shortly after the Republican primary when Paul looked like he might flame out. That was before people like Angle demonstrated the the floor of electability for Republicans is far lower than we feared.

I thought he was done for after the CRA flap, until the polls came out showing him maintaining a decent lead.  Other than that, I've considered this race safe R.

My personal opinion, since before the primary has been - I've always thought that Paul is highly unlikely win by more than single-digits.  Highly unlikely any other KY Republican would have.  The possibility of a 2-3% race still remains a viable option and a more viable option than +10%.  But getting closer than that  or winning is next to impossible, especially with a Louisville politician.  Think of KY as being MO or NC - maybe that'll help.

I could see Paul winning by high single or low double digits. Maybe not most years but this year it could be done. I have a feeling on election night that we will see that the tea partiers will have been underpolling. Just a gut instinct
