No wonder Cornyn was getsy about this race on Fox Sunday news when the pundits were predicting it to stay Democratic. Sorry Manchin.

ok, so the polls are saying the GOP is gaining in IL, WA, CA, and WV....but the Dems are gaining in PA, WI, CO, KY....which is exactly the opposite of what I would have expected. I quit.
What I think is really happening is that the Dems are benefiting from the fact Congress is not in session...that explains why Obama's approval ratings are going higher, though it doesn't explain these wacky polls.

Manchin's key problem according to Rasmussen is that 1/3rd of Dems are going for Raese - he's consistently shown this.

It's just so inconsistent given Manchin absolutely obliterating the competition for Governor. I realize it's not the same office, but man oh man, if Manchin screws up and loses Byrd's seat, it's going to be a shocker, for me at least.

I'm not counting Dave Leip. He used to be the only moderator when I first started posting here. There were no "infraction points" or anything like that back then. I'd just get an email message once in a while that said something like, "Please avoid drunken, emotional diatribes. Thank you, Dave Leip" or "Please refrain from linking to pornographic websites. Thank you, Dave Leip."

I really don't understand why this race should play out any differently from PA-12. Yeah, yeah, wishful thinking, but Raese's a worse candidate than Burns and Manchin is stronger than Critz, plus he isn't a federal incumbent so he can more credibly run as an opponent of Obama as Altmire has done.

Ads like this seem to be taking a toll. "Send Joe Manchin back to Charleston, and send a message to Obama".

Manchin has stupidly not made this race about Byrd. Critz made his campaign all about continuing Jack Murtha's legacy.

It's not the Byrd seat, it's the people's seat.
