Louisiana’s U.S. Senate race continues to trend in Charlie Melancon’s favor. David Vitter’s lead has shrunk to three points (45% Melancon / 48% Vitter) – down from seven points last week (42% Melancon / 49% Vitter) and double digits last month (39% Melancon / 52% Vitter).

---

Anzalone Liszt Research conducted N=600 live telephone interviews with likely 2010 general election voters in Louisiana. Interviews were conducted between October 17-19, 2010.

Respondents were selected at random, with interviews apportioned geographically based on past voter turnout. Expected margin of sampling error is ±4.0% with a 95% confidence level.

I actually wouldn't be too surprised by this.  And besides, who wouldn't be happy to see Vitter go?Tongue

I actually believe Melancon has a shot, considering Vitter is scum.
I used to believe that.

Meh. Seems like immediate pre-election silly season is upon us.

Vitter wins. Louisiana is too conservative to elect a democrat in 2010. they have what they deserve

There really is nothing to hope for. Melancon will make Ben Nelson look like the second coming of George McGovern.

Vitter will sadly win.

Hate for Obama is outweighing embarrassment for Vitter.

This reminds me on how the Ellsworth internals kept saying he was within striking distance of Coats and we all know how that went in Aug and Sept.
