I'd have no problem at all with Chafee winning but this goes against all of the other recent polling in this race.

Why? He wants to tax everything under the sun. He's running to the left of Caprio.

No... there's nothing left-wing about taxing groceries.

Chafee was favored in this race all along.

As I've said before, the only candidate that could make a good governor is Chafee. Caprio hasn't got principles, Robittaille is too conservative and Chafee is a liberal former republican! So, I prefer, by far, Chafee!

Rasmussen has pretty consistently shown Chafee in the lead.

True although this is a bigger lead than normal. I really do think that he's wrong on this one.

I like Chafee as much as the next Democrat, but I don't really think of him as principled - after all, remaining a member of the GOP in Rhode Island was hardly conducive to his electoral future.  In this race, his stubborn insistence on a regressive sales tax scheme really nullifies any reason you might have for supporting his candidacy, imo.
