Perhaps some of you might enjoy a quiz that I wrote for Sporcle...especially since the only people in the country who could probably finish it are on this forum!  I give a unique voting record for each state (for example, the only state to vote for Humphrey in 1968 and Bush in 1992), and you have to guess the state.

Solved with 1:39 left, and for a long time I thought I was doing badly. Quite a lot of the hardest questions in the first third, and of course later on you know which states are gone.

I got them all right on my first try without any help, with 2:25 remaining. It makes me happy because I should be able to get all of them, considering how long I've been staring at and making these maps.

What is the state that split between Harrison, Cleveland and Weaver in 1892?

I got all 50 right.  Some of them I didn't need any help at all, but with some of the less recent elections I used the site.  Some of it took trial and error too, but the ones that included more recent elections were easy since I have those maps virtually memorized. =)

You got 38 out of 50 answers correct.

It was pre-1912 maps which screwed me.

Obviously you aren't supposed to use Atlas...

Anyway, I only got 29. I find the earlier years without county results much less interesting and rarely look at them.

North Dakota.  Its electoral votes were split: one for Harrison, one for Cleveland, and one for Weaver.  That was one I didn't need a map to answer.

It said to feel free to use the Atlas.  You can access some county results prior to 1960 by making a paid contribution, but as much as I'd like to have that, I'm not interested in paying for it, at least at this time.

46/50 (92%) - missed Winfield Hancock in 1880, James Weaver in 1892; John Adams in 1796, Thomas Jefferson in 1800; Seymour in 1868, Dewey in 1948, Nixon in 1960; and John Fremont in 1856, Jimmy Carter in 1980

What is the state that split between Harrison, Cleveland and Weaver in 1892?

North Dakota

I know this is a bump, but I got all 50 with 1:41 left. There were some hard ones though; I had to guess for "Seymour in 1868, Dewey in 1948, Nixon in 1960".
