why'd it flip? It went from going to Bush in 2000 by almost 14 points with Nader taking about 7, still a healthy margin with Nader added in, to going to Kerry by over 7 points, quite a shift. And even though it voted for Clinton both times, he didn't win it by much and Perot was probably the reason. And prior to that it voted Republican in every election as far back as the free results go, including 1964. what's happening with this place?

I'd say it's a ski resort county. The same thing goes for Mono County and Alpine County in California.

Yeah, Jackson Hole is a touristy town. Lots of retirees go there I believe. Some rich people in Seattle have cabins there.

I don't think I've been there but I've heard it has some pretty landscaping.

Teton is french for tit.

Mono and Alpine seem to have flipped 'cos of Yucca Mountain

Teton County is the location of Jackson Hole which is a major ski resort with many retirees and people from either California, Washington, Oregon or back east. They are one of the most Democratic counties in Wyoming, thats not saying much.

I have been to Teton County on vacation for three out of my last four summers. It's very sparsely populated, with Jackson itself being the only real area of civilization, and some wealthy suburbs nearby. Personally I find it interesting that some of the richest areas in the nation (Teton WY being the richest county per capita in the United States, Mammoth Lakes CA) voted for Kerry.
