Vote to eliminate one each round.  Each round lasts a day. (Nominal GDP btw).

The NDP, not the Liberals should be on this list. An argument can and should be made for the PRD over the PRI.

By "left-wing" I mean "left of what that country considers center."

Liberals are centrist; PRI are not remotely left-wing or right-wing given that they're whores and can be good as both.

The Liberal Party in Canada is left by Canadian, American, and international standards.  It's fairly safe to describe it as "left-wing."  Furthermore, they probably have more of what you would consider "genuine" leftists in Parliament than the NDP, so they are therefore the "main left-wing party."  Besides, if we go by your definition, then the "main left-wing party" in Canada is not the NDP but the Bloc Quebecois, which would be awfully silly.

I agree that the PRI is pretty awful.  I expect that after the Communists are eliminated, it will be a race to the bottom between them and the CHP.

I think it's pretty safe to say that a) as a Canadian and b) a member of said party; I can say without talking through my ass that the Liberals are centrist and not left-wing. Primero, they're not members of the SI (unlike a majority of parties here). Second, Liberal leaders since Trudeau have been right-wing and Chretien was a right-winger by most standards. The Bloc Quebecois should never be interpreted in ideological terms given it's role, nature and makeup.

But I'll drop my argument now, and vote for the KPRF

Eliminate Communist Party of the Russian Federation

PRI is not social-democratic or left wing or whatever- it is not even ideological. It is an authoritarian, institutional party that has had both reactionary conservatives (de la Madrid, Salinas) and socialists (Cardenas, Lopez Mateos) as president out of a need to satisfy the various constituencies within the party and maintain dominance in government. It should be swapped with the PRD as Hashemite has said, because PRD is the movement of a left-wing backlash against a recent (1980s) conservative trend in the PRI.

It's really a pity you don't switched PRI and PRD
and NPD and Liberal Party,
as this survivor is a good idea.

It's still time as nobody has voted for any of those parties.

Holy crap, the Liberals are not left wing. Hashemite is right, they are centrist. I was looking forward to playing this, but I am boycotting due to wormguy's ignorance of Canadian politics.

In Belgium exists two Socialist Parties (Wallon and Flemish), The PRI is the wrong Party from Mexico and the Liberal party is the wrong from Canada. Russia isn't democratic. But it is a very good idea this Survivor.

CHP

For future reference, my definition of main left/right-wing is whichever party is the largest that sits on the left or right of that country's legislative chamber.  Nothing more.

PRI as they don't belong here and are obviously worse than the Liberals (not that I'm a fan of them.)
