New Poll: Rhode Island Governor by Quest Research on 2010-10-28

Summary: D: 25%, R: 28%, I: 35%, U: 10%

Poll Source URL: Full Poll Details

...

Caprio, the general treasurer, said Monday that President Barack Obama can "shove it" after learning Obama would not endorse him.  Obama did not endorse any of the candidates for Rhode Island governor.

Thirty-six percent of the respondents in the latest NBC 10-Quest Research poll said they were less likely to vote for Caprio because of his remarks, but 57 percent said the comment made no difference to them.  Seven percent said they were more likely to vote for Caprio.

Hahahahahahahaha

Caprio lost 12 points from their last poll. This idiot didn't realize that the President was still popular with Rhode Island Democrats? Epic fail.

Interesting. Since the RI GOP and RI Dems have an actual turnout apparatus, you could seriously make the arguement that just about anyone can win this thing.

RI has a bunch of idosyncratic pollsters that only poll Rhode Island for the Providence TV stations and newspaper.   I guess that tends to happen when you're living in the shadow of a major media market whose signals and print media reach a good portion of the state - you have to differentiate yourself.   In general, these pollsters' track record is varied.

To make matters worse when trying to judge their track records, these RI pollsters generally split a 400-500 LV sample to give us RI-01 and RI-02 polls with a very high MoE - almost 6, usually.   I wouldn't be surprised to see a RI-01 poll teased for tonight's NBC10 Providence news.

I think it would be more or less the upset of the year if Robitaille actually won this.

I still think that Jack will finish second, but Chafee will win.
