Wow, that's a big margin for Corbett.

Scary big.  I think it will be closer than that for sure, in spite of Onorato's pitiful campaign.

Huge difference between the Gubernatorial race and the Senate race in that poll...

Indeed.....I don't excited about exit polling but I think it's fun to look at.

I get excited even though I know it's completely illogical to be. Tongue

I'm thinking the Republicans will have a total of 30 governors going into re-districting season.

Can we please have some of these results threads open in states where the polls are closed?

The Florida results thread is locked, so I'll post this here:

Scott leads Sink 48%-47%, with 4% reporting so far.

Haha yeah, really.  And they're all yelling about the effectiveness of Obama's policy.  Useless

I just like having the chatter going, but this crap is nonsensical.  Every discussion digresses to Spitzer saying something hackishly irrelevant and everyone yelling about it.  I really think a good chunk of us on here would be better on that panel than the people on it.

Oh God, and MSNBC has Olbermann and Mathews on, Fox News has O'Reilly...what a mess.  This is why I hate the news.  Thank goodness for New York Times' website.

I called this way before anyone else:
If the election were held today, they would lose 65 to 70 seats. The GOP would win the highest percentage of the Congressional vote since the 1920s.

I seriously doubt that they would have done that well in Dec. 2009.

There was basically no change in jobs between Dec. 2009 and Nov. 2010. Yes, about 650,000 new jobs were added, but more than that many people entered the workforce. So already in Dec. 2009, the macro-environment was set up for a 60 to 70 seat Dem loss. That is what I meant by "if the election were held today". My hope at the time was that 2010 would see 200,000 jobs created per month, so that by November the Dems could have held the losses to 40-50. Unfortunately that hope was not realized.
