They really aren't. Their rhetoric is far to the right of their policy.
don't be so sure, I was for TARP from the beginning, but it initially failed in Congress due to lack of GOP support. I was for the GM bailout, though I would have structured it totally differently (I would have cut the unions out, else I would have let GM fail). I was for the stimulus, though I would have structured it totally differently (would have spent the money to 100% wean our infrastructure off of oil and onto natgas for transportation and nukes for electricity.)
I am much more "moderate" than the average GOP primary voter. I am not afraid to spend money, but I would spend money on long term goals instead of spending money on the status quo.
