I don't see how you can say Miller has already outdone Coleman until Murkowski is not in the Senate come January. Or even June.

Judging this entirely by the time it took is a little unfair. There are probably lots of 100-on-a-scale-of-100 sore losers who would like to do what Coleman did, but he got a little help from the ridiculous margin and his state government. Miller is not going to be able to delay Murkowski's seating til june, simply because he has been rejected much more unambiguously and decisively.

I'm not going to vote for now, but I have a feeling Miller will probably end up the bigger sore loser in the end. I doubt he'll ever formally concede, and I wouldn't even put it past him to show up at the Capitol Building on January 4 and demand to be seated.

Part of me says we'll have to see how long Joe Miller drags this one out. If he graciously concedes in the near future, Coleman wins the sore loser competition.

The other part of me says that the margin of victory in Minnesota was so razor-thin that Norm Coleman had at least a somewhat-legitimate claim over his challenge (at least in the beginning). In contrast, Lisa Murkowski clearly won, and the margin of victory isn't even that close...and Joe Miller is trying his best to steal an election where there is an obvious winner. Side by side, Mr. Miller seems to be committing the bigger crime here.

To me, comparing the two cases is like comparing apples and oranges (different, albeit similar items of the same shape and size that you would find in the same aisle of your local grocery store), not apples and baby wolverines.

It's not frivolous to sue the state to make it adhere to the letter of state law, which appears to require the person written in match the name on the list.   Federal standards might overrule that, but just based on Alaska state law, he has a case.

I agree - a losing one - based on both Alaska and Federal precedents. Any ambiguity in the statute (and it is ambiguous), will be resolved in a way that hews to Court precedents; otherwise the statute will be overturned. Miller loses either way.

It's funny how the people who are whining the loudest about Miller challenging votes are the same ones who openly call for Democrats to blatantly cheat in order to win their elections by any means necessary.

Actually, the only ones who benefit from Miller's bickerings are democrats. Murkowski wasn't a teabagger, but at least she was a mainstream republican. If Miller manages to prevents her from being seated for as much time as Coleman managed with Franken, the democrats' share of the Senate seats will be 53.5% instead of 53%. That won't change much things, but it can only help.

People citing Miller's ridiculous ballot challenges have clearly forgotten what Coleman was doing. There were plenty of ballots clearly marked for Franken but challenged on "voter intent" just because the vote for another office was Republican. There were also votes for McCain with the Senate race marked for Barkley or another third party or simply left blank that were also challenged under "voter intent".

At this point, I kind of desire that Miller sue, and go down in flames. He has proven himself extremely annoying, and needs to be further humiliated. What a dumb. Ideally, Murkowski will be just short of getting a plurality of the unchallenged ballots, and Miller can litigate the issue of whether cursive handwriting is unacceptable or not.
