"In a way it’s like “The Sound of Music” but without the romance, the Nazis or the music."

The first episode airs on Sunday night.  Will you watch it?  Should we have a live commentary thread here?

PPP's newest tease suggests that she's leading in at least Ohio and Washington in the next six polls it will release.

OMG!  I'll be watching to find out why she's not wearing a wedding ring in that gun store!!

(I think the premiere is going against Steelers/Patriots which I bet will sink her ratings for whatever that's worth.)

I love Sarah in a purely non-political way. This show is so ridiculous in concept how can you not like it?

I like the idea of this sort of in the same way that I like the idea of an Alvin Green reality show.

Although an Alvin Greene reality show would be far superior

And nothing pulls me away from my "Stillers" (Although I might be one of 5 people in the city to not pronounce it like that). Sorry Sarah, but Troy Polamalu has better hair.

You overestimate the Steelers' appeal.

This is the blog where the 15% of Republicans who dislike Palin and the 10% of Americans who disliked her convention speech reside.  The remaining 79-80% of GOP and GOP leaning indies who like her don't come here.

I mean, just look at the top 10 posts on this forum........a decent half of them are about her.  You'd think if the distaste was so legit, you wouldn't see so many threads focuses on nothing but her.

Your math here is highly suspect.  Of the 25 threads on the front page of the 2012 US Presidential election board, only two of them are focused solely on Palin (this one and the "Count Sarah Palin in" thread).  There are a couple other threads that are basically polling threads, that prominently feature her, but that's just because that's what the poll says.

I have no idea why there should necessarily be any correlation between discussing a particular political figure here and liking that political figure.  If there's some news about a politician, or some interesting aspect of a political figure's life or something, that's naturally going to be discussed here.  I don't see why that should have anything to do with whether people like the politician or not.

But isn't the headline likely to be Alaska where it looks like she'll finish 2nd if not 3rd?

EDIT: Obviously that is a product of the Murkowski fight but even so, will it scuttle her mojo?

Actually no.  Murkowski is incredibly unpopular with Alaska Republicans.  Miller likely won around 65% of the Republican vote, a decent percentage considering how moderate Alaska Republicans are in general.

While it's disappointing she's down in Alaska, I think she'd gladly trade being down in alaska for being up in Ohio.  It appears that she's up narrowly from the tease (in fact, the tease states that she is up).

Just a reminder to the 5 people who answered yes in this poll.....It airs 9pm US Eastern time on TLC, which is just a few hours from now.

Feel free to post your review here.

EDIT: It's on now.  Twitter feed of people talking about it:  http://twitter.com/#search?q=sarah%20palin's%20alaska

Most amusing tweet:

"Sarah Palin's Alaska: EMMY WORTHY.I am currently living life vicariously through her while learning where the dense salmon populations are."

Ok, so I watched it. Well, still watching it, as it isn't over yet. It isn't too bad, actually. A couple political references, but I think the main motive of this is improve her favorable. While it may make some like her a little more, I still wouldn't vote for her in the primary because she has too much baggage and would lose.

Methinks he didn't really want to do this, but Sarah pushed him to. Same with Willow.

I'm not a big fan of her doing the show but if even people here think it's ok, it's probably  pretty good.

I like the theme music though.  Third Day is a really good band that is able to appeal to anyone who is not from the Northeast or liberal.  "Follow Me There" is a lot better than "signed sealed delivered."
