What's the one issue you agree with the opposite party on the most?

Minimum Wage. The Democrats are right, $5.15 for minimum wage is pathetic.

Probably medicine and taxation, though Bush is still failing miserably.

Edit: Oh yeah, and definitely affirmative action.

But shouldn't people be allowed to work for that if they so choose?

But shouldn't people be allowed to work for that if they so choose?

I think the option that would do the most to boost lower-class incomes would be to make a wage-floor under which people would not be willing to work by providing a dole of about $6/hrX2000hrs per year = $12,000 a year.  To lure people away from that sort of deal you'ld need to offer a lot more money.  I always say workers that make under $20 an hour should actually be sabotaging their employer.

That said, the area I agree most with the GOP on.. I suppose ideologically taxes, though their position is highly impractical in a democracy.

School vouchers, I'd guess. But AA would be close as well.

College education funding.

I'm from a rich family, so I'll never see a dime.  But I have friends who aren't, and they have the sh*ttiest deal on the planet.  They have to go deep into debt to get a degree, and the only way they can get ahead in life is to go through this atrocious process.

The country would be better off if everyone had a real chance at college.

Affirmative Action. Don't agree with that at all.
Whatever next? Having quotas for fat people?

Funny, nobody mentioned fiscal discipline. I guess that issue is definitely up for grabs now.

Like in Europe?

Btw, even if your family is rich, you can take out massive loans for graduate school.  By then you're technically 'independent'.

If you have high test scores and come from a low or middle income family, I'd agree to have college be paid for by the government.

Also, I think it's too early to amend the Constitution regarding gay marriage.

I think that everyone who wants to insure their child should be able to do so for $15/month through a government-subsidized program.

No one wants to do anything about illegal immigration/border control, either.

In one of his speeches, Kerry said some nice things about Reagan and I agreed with that.

I agreed with the late great Daniel Patrick Moynihan that the way the current social security tax worked was a total sham. I don't think the Democrats feel this way anymore; I'm not sure.

I agree with Joe Lieberman on a lot of things including the need to end judicial filibusters.

I agreed with Clinton on NAFTA and welfare reform.

I agreed with Clinton on welfare reform, but we should remember that Clinton only reluctantly signed the welfare reform bill after vetoing it twice, because it was politically popular.  Welfare reform is a Republican idea that Clinton approved for political expediency.

I agree with the Democrats on the need to provide better public transportation options in densely populated areas.  Republicans tend to mock this issue, but it is an important one.

Race based Affirmative Action, and with traditional Republicans, kind of foreign policy.  I am a very hawkish Democrat.

Ditto. I agree strongly with the traditional conservatives like Pat Buchanan on the War in Iraq.
