Why didn't Geraldine Ferraro run for the democratic presidential nomination in 1988? History shows some former VP candidates run whether successful or not.

She might have some sort of Obama-like appeal as the first _________ to have a serious shot at the Presidency, but she would have only had about six years in the HoE, and wouldn't have been in office for four years by the time 1988 rolled around.

she was finished in 1984.

dont forget she ran for the senate in 1998 and lost to schumer in the primary.
