No thankfully. One of the guys at work was talking about how his mom was a huge fan though.

I find the fact that there are apparently so many extremely creepy especially when you consider one of the guys in it (the one who always has his shirt off) wasn't even 18 when the first movie with him came out...

I think the idea of aged women being attracted to well-muscled, shirtless young gigolos is very appealing, life-affirming, and even a bit exciting, certainly not 'creepy'.

That said, I rarely meet middle aged women, and I have never discussed Twilight with anyone, though I did see it on the plane.

Are teenage girls in Thailand crazy about that crap too?

*looks up international box office numbers*, yeah it looks even Thailand is not exempt from that plague. Sad The last movie made over 100 million baht, not sure how much movie tickets in Thailand cost but that certainly is a lot.

I think movie tickets are about 80-120 baht, depending on location.  Yes, Thai teens are crazy about that, not that I ever talk to Thai teens.  Oh no, of course not.  never.

I think I've only met one person ever who said she liked Twilight, and she was a teenager.  I'm sure I've met others, but the subject of Twilight simply doesn't come up very often.

I think Twilight is reasonably popular here, I just don't know anyone in the relevant demographic.  I don't have much interaction with people under 25 these days.

All the people I've met who like Twilight are annoying teenage fangirls.

Yes, I have a middle-aged female coworker who's obsessed with it; she had a Twilight wallpaper on her desktop for the longest time.

Happily, I've never met anyone who likes that s**t.

Heard people on forums complaining about said middle-aged women, though.

Can't say I've ever met anyone who has professed an interest in it to me. My mom referred to it as a disgrace to vampire fiction.

Not middle-aged exactly, but a mother of a four-year-old.  And I'm sorry, but probably the ugliest woman I have ever met.

Yes... but they're usually man-hungry she-blimps or wanna-be cougars.

Haha, this thread is pretty funny. 2 posters say their wife and mother.  Meanwhile, everyone else is blasting older Twilight fans as desperate wildebeests.

That's basically what attracts the older women fanbase, which is what is rather creepy.

I can picture women having Edward vs. Jacob arguments with their teenage daughters now...

yeah, that crosses the line even with teens. I am so sick of those two names now. Who cares! you wont meet them or talk to them so why make it the only thing you talk about? oh well, to each his own. I tend to leave when they get into those.

No, but I have encountered several men in their 20s who are obsessed with Twilight.

I think the idea of aged women being attracted to well-muscled, shirtless young gigolos is very appealing, life-affirming, and even a bit exciting, certainly not 'creepy'.
Exactly. I can sympathize with middle-aged women who are totally into Edward and Jacob. If I was a middle-aged woman, I would much rather watch muscular, attractive young men with good bodies than flabby red-faced men with awful haircuts and beer bellies. I suspect that many men who complain about these cougars that boldly refuse to repress their desires and needs are merely envious!
