Great troll.
He's certainly a weird-looking dude. I saw his image for the first time tonight.
I don't think he's a traitor, either to his cause or to his nation. I think there's some misplaced foaming about. And I'm not sure that it's in the best interests of the United States to have our elected officials going on and on about Assange. It's important to recognize that many folks are projecting onto this man some attributes that he cannot honestly claim. To quote the words of one of our great thinkers,

the Julian Assange's aren't the real problem, rather it's the fact the intelligence and diplomacy departments of the U.S. are filled with antiAmericans.

actually i think the wikileaks show evidence against the idea that the state dept is anti-american. Julian Asange is anti-american though. why doesn't he spend his time trying to leak things from the Chinese or the Russians?

How can he be a traitor to 'his nation' when he's not even an American?

Presumably it's somewhat harder.

I'm not sure if this new tendency to appeal to the apparent inherent evil of Xahar in all things even remotely related to forum policing or this damn game is especially helpful.

That seems like a silly question to me. I'm not sure you're serious.
If you are, then yes, it is certainly possible for him to be a traitor to his country. I'm just saying that I don't think he is a traitor to his country. Are you under the impression that only Americans have that word "traitor" in their vocabulary? I'm quite sure that all English-speaking people have this concept. His country has the concept of treason just as mine does. In any case, I have seen no evidence that he is a traitor either to his cause or to his country. I only mention this as "traitor" was one of the options in the poll (presumably one can be a traitor to one's country or to one's ideologies, and I see evidence of neither)--although I'd imagined that Al added that option tongue-in-cheek. In fact, the entire poll seems like a sardonic comment. I may be misreading that though.

Oh, I hate to joke around about the guy, Al. He's really an impressive and brave fellow, and he'll be killed soon, so it seems rather sad not to treat of him seriously.
That, and I like his sexual practices,
as publicized by the Swedish prude-court.

Al and I discussed him being "depressed" and hanging himself in the thread on the international board......so "will be killed soon" might have more than one look to it.

No, I never bet on the actions of large, diabolical organizations. But thank you for the kind offer.

Why is Asange upset that someone is leaking personal information about him?
