Let's say that the Gold Democrats manage to retain control of the Democratic party and renominate President Grover Cleveland in 1896.  The silver democrats bolt the convention and join the populist party which nominates William J. Bryan with James Weaver as his running mate.  The Republicans still nominate William McKinley.

So it's Cleveland/Stevenson vs. McKinley/Hobart vs. Bryan/Weaver.

Discuss with maps, please.
