I vote for the real Democrat, the one who called himself a Republican. He quickly ended the Korean war. He kept the top tax bracket for the rich at 87%. He said that only some crazy Texas oilmen of some doomed party would want to mess with Social Security. He sent in federal troops to integrate the schools. He opposed the war with Egypt that France and Britain wanted. He warned of undue influence of the military-industrial complex. It's pretty obvious that he was far far far to the left of the current President.

From my experience, he was a Centrist, and he favored a Balanced Budget, something both Democrats and Republicans fought with him on. There's also an event where he talks to one of his staff or something, saying (paraphrasing) "Even if half of them think the truth is out here" reaches right hand to the right "and if the other half thinks the truth is out here" reaches left hand to the left "They will all come down to here "meets hand in center.

Somehow I doubt you would be of the same opinion if Ike were placed in the Oval Office today.

Yeah. I can imagine him having to stave off Conservatives and Liberals left and right.

No, wormguy means that jfern would be voting for Obama in this poll if Ike were President today and Obama had been President in 1960.

Whatever. We know what both of these individuals stand for, unlike in your hypothetical. We obviously didn't know what Obama stood for before he was President because he's a massive liar.
