Here it is.

Like a lot of people, I've been looking forward to the inevitable article on Glenn Beck et al from the great (and tragically ill) Christopher Hitchens for ages, and it's finally arrived. It is, as always, right on the money, and it's not exactly complimentary.

So, what say you, Atlas? Even if you disagree with the article, it's a great read, at least. Smiley

PS: I hope I haven't copy-and-pasted too much of the article and violated copyright or whatever. Apologies if I have.

Hitchens does not look good (obviously, and obviously is in big trouble health wise).  Cancer is a terrible disease.

one thing Hitchens is right about is those in the Tea Party believe Obama doesn't share their belief in "American exceptionalism", but rather is attempting to destroy it.

the central tenents of Liberalism are:  1) biblical Christian morality is bad, 2) capitalism is bad, and 3) American exceptionalism is bad.

Yeah, I was saddened to see how frail he looked at that debate with Tony Blair a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately his mind is still untouched, so far.

Calling Hitchens a "moron" is one of the more absurd things I've read here in a long time.

I'm not so convinced that opposition to Obama is a racial thing. Doesn't mean the tea partiers aren't cynical asshats. He's the first prez to win with unabashed liberal rhetoric since 1964. That scares the hell out of them. They'd be pulling the same crap if we had elected anybody who campaigned like Obama.

The post calling the author a "moron" pretty much proves the point of his article. The Tea Party stands for everything that is negative about politics.

well, the fact is Obama mocks those who uphold biblical Christian morality as "clinging to religion", he doesn't allow people the right to succeed or fail, and he goes out of his to trash American exceptionalism every chance he gets.

so, yeah, there really is no reason to want to bother to object to plain facts.

The most racist thing I've seen in the last six months is the Congressional Black Caucus supporting Charlie Rangel.

The post calling the author a "moron" pretty much proves the point of his article. The Tea Party stands for everything that is negative about politics.

Which is why the author spends most of the article calling his political opponents anything from racists to terrorists for daring to hold differing views on the role of government in society.

The Author is just another self-righteous loudmouth of the left who buys into the Liberal's version of the sort of paranoia he's trying to project onto the Tea Party.  These guys are a dime a dozen these days.
