The two cities are in a dispute right now as to which one will be able to host the presidential library. What is your opinion?

Jakarta or rural Kansas.

But seriously, isn't Chicago the obvious answer?

Precedent is confused on this matter. Reagan's library is in Ventura County, but Hoover's is nowhere near Northern California.

I'd personally prefer Honolulu, but Chicago makes the most sense.

He grew up and vacations in Hawaii. He started his family, made his career and has his primary residence in Chicago. I think the latter is the obvious choice.

I was reading about this the other day on Politico and found it amusing that Columbia and Harvard, while not actively pursuing the library, are being proposed as well.

I'm sure it would be on the list of things to do for all those tourists in Hawaii though.

Honolulu is too remote, and Obama never held elected office in Hawaii prior to being elected president. Chicago is the obvious choice.

lol

Not that the concept of a Clinton library (is there one already? I don't pay attention to this sort of thing) is much less amusing.

Yes, there is a Clinton Library. It's in Little Rock.

I agree with the vast majority -for a multitude of reasons (relative ease of access not least of them) Chicago would be the most logical choice for his future presidential library.

Obama tried to get Chi-town the Olympics, and instead, they'll get his library.  Not much of a consolation prize, is it? Smiley

I'll be the dissenting voice and say Honolulu, Hawaii. It isn't for any particular reason; just the fact that I'd rather have it there.
