How come Clinton lost Oklahoma 5th worse than the 6th. I thought the panhandle would make the latter more heavily Republican.
And New Mexico's districts seem unchanged from the current ones.
Oklahoma's 6th contains Oklahoma City's black and working class populations.

Yes, it will take me some time though, both states are gerrymandered pretty well.

That's very interesting. Looking at TX and OK, or at IN and PA, seems like electoral geography has changed a lot in 16 years...

Yes, strange how Clinton did so well in those rural areas.

I apoligize, my 1996 Almanac only has the 1992 results by 1993 districts. And my paid account expired some days ago.
Sorry

But I do have another interesting battleground state to hold some interest for the time being:

Of course it would take a long time, but I would love to see California.

I'm not sure if this new tendency to appeal to the apparent inherent evil of Xahar in all things even remotely related to forum policing or this damn game is especially helpful.

How many districts Clinton carried in Texas?
18 for Clinton, 12 for Bush (but Bush won his districts with much bigger average margins of course, which gave him the edge).
Even though the VRA requires some districts to favor Democrats--appears to be nine on that map, the six at the border, two in Houston, and one in Dallas, aside from that, Clinton won 9 white-majority (or plurality) to 12 for Bush. Very impressive.
Illinois is surprising, I expected that northern Ill. was more GOP back then and southern Ill. more Dem back then, but I was surprised at the extent.

So far I have LA-1, OH-1, TN-1, T-7, PA-17, IN-6, OK-5, MS-1, MS-3, MS-4, MS-5, TX-19, TX-21, TX-8, TX-7, and TX-22 listed as districts which went 50% or more for Bush. There might be one more in Louisiana.

Of course. However, I only made a map showing the winners and not the margins. Dave already has one for paid members, and it would be kind of rude to his business to put up another % map on this site. Sorry.
But anyways, it's better than nothing.
California
Edit: Apologies, a couple districts in Southern California were wrong. I think they're fixed.

Just a random FYI for all those interested in Michigan, Gore actually won the state's 11th CD while Clinton lost it narrowly. Although the Dem margins in '92 and 2000 were only about 2% apart, it's still an interesting switch.

A little on the unsurprising side given the general differences between Clinton's vote in 1992 and Gore's eight years later. I'm more interested to find out that the tenth voted for Bush.
