I agree, but why did they repeal the 22nd amendment?  I mean, I'm no fan of restricting our elections with term limits, but is there some sort of crisis that would warrant it?

Well President Goldwater really wanted to be able to run for a third term if he could and was healthy enough.  I can get rid of that part if you want.

No it's great, I just thought that maybe some crisis would help him force it through, kinda like FDR with his own "draft" in 1940.  Magnificent TL.
