Though unlikely to happen, how would this effect Obama's 2012 election?
I might probably help him win Florida...

The truth: Hillary is stepping down because Obama desperately wants Crist to be his Secretary of State.

Any switch from Biden, even to a marginally more attractive pol, would still be a political disaster. There's no reason for Obama to create a sense of weakness about his campaign and administration.

Crist won't be on the short list for either the Democratic or Republican tickets.  Plain and simple.

Crist's political career is about as over as over can be.  It's more over than Richard Nixon's post-resignation.

Yes, you would help Obama win Florida more so than Crist. Seriously.

I wonder if the Saudis and other Arab countries will like a gay S.O.S more than a female one (assuming you believe Hillary is female)......

I think he means he'll vote for the democrat if Obama ran with Crist.

Who would vote for Obama/Crist but not Obama/Biden? Other than Charlie Crist?

I bet there are way more people that wold vote against Obama for this than for Obama. It'd make me more hesitant.

A governor with literally rock-dead approval ratings? Help him win Florida?

No. Obama would be insane to choose that unprincipled, cowardly POS as VP...which is why I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

Possibly only a good idea if the printer makes a typo on the campaign signage:

Abandoning a popular Vice President, who have a support among the base for years, for a failed former Republican moderate hero, who goes down from almost a Senator-elect when declared to a big time loser?

Not going to happen.

Look, I'm not buying any "speculation" about drooping Biden in 2012. Especially as crazy as the above.

Even very popular and safe Presidents, like Eisenhower in 1956 or Nixon in 1972, decided against drooping their Vice Presidents, although they really wanted to.

The only instance of keeping the Veep being more dangerous electorally than drooping, I can think of, was FDR dumping Wallace in 1944.

Unless it's Biden who wants to quits, he won't be dropped. Period.

Westerwelle managed to leave Saudi Arabia in one piece, so they'd simply ignore the West's corruption and decadence on this one as well.
