Its interesting to see the "Clinton-era Republicans" finally coming to fruition in 2000.  

Intra-class polarization was getting to high levels in 2000 for the first time as well as a result of the above trend.

What's with Ohio88? Also... given what CT's most Republican towns are like... I'm not sure I'm buying it.

I suppose that overall Connecticut's wealthiest are more liberal than other states' (Obama won Greenwich, one of the capitols of old money in the East) and are just highly concentrated in several towns along the Gold Coast.  This is not to say that CT's upper class is Democratic, but they are more so than most states.
