And I thought leaving the PPTship would spare me such difficult choices to make. Tongue

Start of the semester is a busy time for Yank. He's not intentionally dodging this thing.

Not so much busy, as stressfull and depressing. I also am very sleep deprived as well. Two and a half hours last night, the same the night before.

Lief: 5
Snowguy716: 5

A tie required the President of the Senate to cast a tiebreaker.

Remembering last controversies, I'll retire for a moment to consider this decision. Anybody can PM me with suggestion/point etc.

At least, since neither Lief or Snowguy are my party colleagues, you won't be able to whine about my partisanship this time, suckers Tongue

I made my decision, but let me first explain.

Lief is a very experienced and dedicated veteran of Atlasia politics. He's been Lieutenant Governor, Governor, Senator and President of the Republic, so he seems to be a logical choice for the job.

However, I believe it would be very good move to ensure some new blood, regarding Senate leadership, and Snowguy, who already proved his own dedication and hard work abilities in this body, seems to be a right choice under this point of view. It's a time to give newer people a chance in Atlasia.

Thereby, As President of the Senate, I cast a tie-breaking vote for Snowguy716 and declare him elected President pro tempore

I know he'll remain offline for few days, so until this, Senate Dean can manage few things.

Excellent choice, if I were in the Senate, I probably would have voted for him too.

Good choice. Snowguy took the time to at least PM me about his interest, a clear sign he feels up for the job. I'm glad he'll get to do it!

Btw, if Yankee can't dedicate right now, as a Dean, for manage stuff until PPT is online (and since I sucks with this), can I, as Senate President, ask one of the Senators to do this?

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer, but this really doesn't bode well for the Senate.

Just letting everybody know I will be scarce for a day or two thanks to some unforeseen stuff.  Don't worry... it's nothing bad.

I should be back full time later this week.  Smiley

I'm sure Snowguy will do a good job when he gets around to it, but he's not here right now. It's rather worrisome that the Senate would get off on the wrong foot quite so quickly.

It's not the end of the world, and it's not like Yankee can't run things anyway.

It's not a step in the right direction, either.

Personally, I've found the idea that only people with an utterly enormous amount of free time should be able participate in Atlasia to be not only disgusting, but potentially harmful to the game.

Thanks for your votes everybody, and thanks for the support.  I can assure you, Ogis, I will do my best to make sure things run smoothly in the senate.

As Bgwah said, this should not be a full time job for anybody.  What fun is that?  I understand the need for the PPT to be "with it" a bit more than the casual poster, and I think I certainly fit that bill.. but like I said, something unforeseen came up that limits my internet access probably until tomorrow evening.  This isn't a regular occurrence.

For the superstitious, perhaps it was an omen Tongue  But I doubt it.

Now, we'll going to prove that a President of the Senate from UDL and President pro tempore from JCP can work together, despite all recent partisan disagreements.
