Wow, I'm surprised Dobbs does that well.

Well, I can see the New Jersey politician popularity rule is still going strong. As in, they like next to nobody they elect.

And, at this rate, it's enough to unfortunately see Menendez re-elected. Watch Guadagno, Kean and Dobbs sit this one out anyway. Kean has a shot at becoming State Senate President by this time next year. If that happens, this is definitely out. Even if it looks like the GOP won't take back the State Senate, after seeing these numbers, Kean will probably avoid this race. It's New Jersey in a Presidential election year.

It is. That said, I think you have a better shot against Menendez than you do against Cory Booker in 2014. Might as well take it.

I would trade Menendez for anyone else in the US Senate. As far as I can tell, the guy is a gopher who basically sticks his head out of his hole, screams about injustice to Hispanics, and burrows back in. I don't think he gives a damn about non Essex/Hudson county.

Anyone think that Booker could primary Menendez?

It certainly would be interesting in my opinion and I think Menendez would be in for one hell of a race.

If Booker wanted to be a Senator he would just wait for Lautenberg to leave.

The incumbent would have to be seriously damaged for someone to consider it given institutional party strength in NJ. If Torricelli couldn't draw a primary challenger when he was sailing into an indictment, I don't think a sound incumbent like Menendez would be considered a target.

On the power broker side, Booker's people are Menendez's people, and vice versa. A primary there is inconcievable.
