Is this intended to be simply a law or a constitutional amendment?

It might have to be split up. Section b lends itself to amendment, but a is certainly statute.

EDIT: I'm trying to find some sort of precedent for even a glimmer of Assembly expulsion in statute, so we can work around any such issues.

How would this be determined? What if someone saw the original vote but did not take a photo of the vote and then it's deleted. Then it's one members' word against another no?

That'd be up to the court.  And I'm sure they'd require evidence beyond a reasonable doubt.

What would be beyond a reasonable doubt? Multiple testimonies?

That would be up to the court.  Unless we state otherwise.

This bill is a lot better than the previous version. I'm still not sure I think such a long voting-ban is an appropriate penalty for delating your vote, but besides that I have no problem with it. Good work on re-writing it Ogis.

I agree with SC here. An entire year ban from holding office is excessive, not to mention 6 months without having a say in the government. I've only been around for a year. It would encourage people to switch regions and/or become less active.

Sorry for the absence... I've been gone all weekend.  Does anybody have a suggested timeframe?

Perhaps not being allowed to vote in 1 regular regional election or up to 3 months. That way if there's a vacancy election right after they are convicted, they can't get off easily by being able to vote after that vacancy election.

One regular election or 3 months sounds good to me.

Yes, I can get behind this plan, for sure. I accept the implied amendment as friendly.

On another note, can we suspend conversation on this topic for a short period and focus on the budget? This only needs to be passed before the next election anyway, and the budget deadline is coming up a lot sooner.
