It seems rather silly for us to pick up the travel and security tab for no reason......Obama already was called and informed the court he wouldn't be coming when he was called a while back.  However, Biden just probably wanted a chance to go to DE.....

Practically speaking...probably. It's still a good sign that people with authority are still regular citizens like everyone else.

The article mentions that Kagan was also recently called for jury duty. So, haha, judges and justices can be jurors? So if a case was appealed, could a judge possibly have to sit through a case once as a juror and once as its judge? Haha.

They would presumably recuse themselves in the second trial.
