I was just waiting to see: "Tim Pawlenty as Batman."

I must say, though, that as corny as it was, it is great to see Pawlenty show some enthusiasm.

It's nice to see King Timmy coming out with new advertisements for himself.  Too bad nobody really likes him.

Give him a year or so in the presidency... he'll have that budget balanced... cuts to the sick and poor and plenty of accounting shifts, shifty borrowing, one time fixes, and a whole plethora of other gimmicks that leave us in worse financial shape... and economic and social shape than ever before when he leaves!

Ok, we know you have a personal gripe with the guy but we really didn't need the campaign advertisement.

And if you want to editorialize, please don't be too insanely biased to the point where you make stuff up. "Nobody really likes him?" What's that even based on?

Ok, so you just proved my point. Thank you. 42% approval would mean that quite a few people still like him. Though you should think twice when trying to be a smart ass and linking to a poll that has him at a 42% approval rating and a 66% disapproval rating. I'll give you a minute to ponder why that poll is worth a second look.

Anyway, if 42% is his lowest showing ever, he's a very lucky guy.

So they misquoted the poll (it has a link to the actual SUSA poll, check it out. The 66% disapproval is for the legislature.), beside the point. The point is he was not popular upon leaving office.

Ok, that's nice...except I wasn't arguing that he was popular. Snowguy said "no one really likes him." I countered that and you essentially backed up my point. Thank you. Please feel free to throw in your poll if I ever decide to say that he was popular upon leaving office.

He wasn't saying that no one likes him but that not one REALLY likes him which is true. He doesn't have the slavering devotion to him like so many idiots have to Sarah Palin for example.

That quote can be interpreted two ways but assuming he meant it that way, your poll is even more irrelevant. Anyway, the guy could end up being very well liked among Republicans. It's just that he's still rather unknown.

Well Phil, you seem to hate Rendell even more without giving us any reason why you consider him worse than Attila the Hun.

Actually, I don't "hate" him. He was being a particular asshat during his final months in office. I posted stories about it so that would discredit your claim that I was voicing my displeasure "without giving any reason." People on both sides noticed it and discussed it. That's hardly thinking someone is "worse than Attila the Hun."

You are seriously the worst hack here. We're talking about someone engaging in hyper-editorializing (to the point where he was making stuff up) where it really wasn't warranted. Sorry but Snowguy's gripe with Pawlenty for cutting aid has nothing to do with the release of this video or his chances for the nomination. But you decide to one up him and make me and Rendell an issue for more cheap hack points. Bravo.

Well, the guys from Minnesota have also aired numerous times their disagreements with Pawlenty, and they were far more serious that what you posted here about Rendell.
Holding the state budget hostage just to endear himself to the Tea Party crowd seems to me much more serious than being flippant on TV about a football game.

Or Rendell going nuts about casinos. Or a number of other policy disagreements I have with him but that's not the point. You'll do anything to change the subject when it doesn't go your way. This isn't about Pawlenty's popularity or why I dislike Rendell.

That's great that BRTD and Snowguy dislike Pawlenty. They might have legitimate gripes but this isn't the place. My posts about Rendell were mainly for entertainment value (which you apparently hold in high regard); I wasn't posting them because I was hoping to gain your respect for having a "serious" gripe with Rendell.  Roll Eyes  If you want to discuss Rendell or Pawlenty's unpopularity/policy decisions, feel free to create threads about it. Stop thread hijacking.

Geez, calm down man. Your meltdowns lately make Silvio look calm and collected.

And seriously, reading your posts I still don't understand what exactly is your problem. You want to make a point but your reaction is too emotional to make it clear.

Px, you bring up totally off topic issues when you have nothing else to say to serve as a "Gotcha!" Again, my issues with Rendell aren't the topic here. My posting of his recent explosions for entertainment purposes isn't the point. Pawlenty's policy positions aren't relevant to this discussion.

Phil... I love that you maintain that Pawlenty's policy positions aren't relevant in a thread about Pawlenty.

It's a thread about his silly book promotion. It isn't a place for you to go on your usual "Pawlenty is evil towards the poors and sick!" rant.

If it was a general thread about Santorum, you'd be more than welcome to do so. I have stated repeatedly that you should start another thread to complain about Pawlenty's policies. This isn't the place. We're analyzing his candidacy; you're not.

How is Pawlenty taking his ball and going home? This is where your weird grudge against the man makes you say things that just don't make sense. The man was elected Governor of your state and re-elected. If he didn't seek re-election, your comment would make sense. But that didn't happen. Also, the man is going to run for President of the United States. How the hell is that taking the ball and going home?

Btw, I think T-Paw is going for the Mike Naso vote with this trailer.

I think we haven't heard from Naso on this yet because he's still staring at his monitor with his jaw on the ground.
