It'd be interesting to do this for Minnesota, although I have no doubt Bush would win, since he won those inner suburban counties by narrow margins. Mondale would've probably won the 2002 Senate race under this though.

OK, I calculated the EVs for each Minnesota county. But I don't have time to tally them now because I'm off to South Dakota, so if anyone else wants to go ahead.

Here's probably a more fair distribution of Minnesota EVs. In this one I simply gave each county 1 "representative" and then distributed the rest proportionally. Before I distributed all the "representatives" by the counties' population, but some counties' rounded to 0, so I gave each one 1 representative and took the seat from another county which just narrowly won its last representative (for example if it was entitled to X.51 representatives it would lose the rounded up one), but this wasn't too proportional and resulted in one county getting 3 EVs despite having 4x the population of another.

I'd calculate it, but I'm taking a nap now. Last night I had to check into a motel at literally 4:30 AM and left around 11.

Two very interesting states for this would be Maryland and Illinois.

Why not just use the actual apportionment method?

Because I'm not sure what that is. I thought it was the first way I did it.
