1900 was a replay of 1896 with McKinley as the head of the GOP ticket and Bryan as the Dem nominee. Things were going ok, so McKinley improved his performance a half point and won fairly comfortably in 1900. Nothing strange yet. However, look at the state info. Utah went from 83% for Bryan to just 48%. Ok, Utah's just full of Mormons who do what they're told, right? However,  Nevada went from 81% for Bryan to just 62%.  Bryan lost 15% in WA, 28% in ID, 21% in MT, 29% in CO, and 10% in Wyoming. What's going on?

Silver became a non-issue as the economy got better, iirc.
