And the First Amendment was created more to keep government out of the church, not remove any and all religious-related aspects from the government.

To drift further off-topic, it does not matter what parts of the constitution were created with the intention to accomplish which things. The Founders never claimed to know the full extent of our rights or liberties and some were adamant that the social contract singed by one generation of Americans should not be binding to those that follow. People will have different interpretations of early documents, and these have varied implications.
