For non-Americans: do you have a high number of political chain e-mails?

The other thread made me think about it.  Every day I see something in my inbox starting FWD RE RE RE RE RE RE RE RE RE and I know it's either going to be a white supremacist screed about lazy Mexican immigrants or conspiracy theories about Obama's birth or, more innocently, "funny" animal pictures or lists of "jokes."  I know many Americans have the same thing.  Is this the case abroad?

I've seen one once but that wasn't that bad and didn't seem to be sent out randomly (but between people who knew each other). I never got one myself.

Was it the Mona Sahlin one?

Sometime during the summer there was a chainmail in Sweden being sent around listing Mona Sahlin's special tips on how to make your private economy go around. With was basicly listing all the times she hadn't payed taxes, and the time she "borrowed" money from the taxpayers.

Never got one myself, but heard a lot about it.

Actually I have noticed that newspaper comments often tend to be overwhelmingly left-libertarian, if there's ever a story about a drug or prostitution arrest they'll typically be 90% whining about how idiotic and a waste of taxpayer money and police time this stuff is. But if it's about developments in health care reform or whatever then it's close to 50/50 between supporters and teabagger types. Although I see Xahar's quote, the "illegal immigrant does something bad" type stories that CARLHAYDEN spams us with tend to have comments that are nothing but hordes of racists with bad spelling.

No. I get typical forward mails from some people in my family, but they're inoffensive and cheesy.

I don't read comments on French newspaper websites often as to not destroy my sanity, but as usual the crowd there tends to be left-wing and far-right and both relate every news story to how Sarkozy is destroying the world. And when it's about Europe or stuff like that, a million far-right loons overrun the place to make sure the world knows that they really hate teh evil EU.

No, I've never received one of these e-mails, although I've heard about them many times. See, the people who would send me an e-mail know that I wouldn't agree with them on that, so I assume they just leave me off their lists. I have heard racist stuff from family members though occasionally.
