TN-Vanderbilt University/The Tennessean: Obama leads Palin by 5
«
on:
February 07, 2011, 04:25:13 am »
42% Obama
37% Palin
About 1 in 5 respondents chose neither. Pollsters did not ask about other possible Republican presidential candidates.
...
With 710 respondents to the Vanderbilt Poll, the margin of error for the poll is +/- 3.7 %. The poll was conducted by calling a random sample of landline telephone numbers over a period of seven days, from Jan. 17 to Jan. 23.
John Geer, professor of political science, and Josh Clinton, associate professor of political science, co-directed the poll.

If Palin is nominated she will win a handful or redneck states (Oklahoma, Arkansas, West Virginia) and the Mormon Belt (Utah, Idaho, Wyoming).

Wow, pretty hilarious... especially when you consider that she only lead by a point in TX and NE.

Reading the 3012 boards dulls one's sense of irony.
Seriously. How many times can we read about the Obamachine 3000 pulling ahead of the Reagantronix QLZ in the race for Mars Mutant Colony's 48 electoral votes? Sheesh!

However leery white southerners may be of voting for a sane black man, they may be even less willing to vote for a crazy white woman.
Sarah Palin has become a political joke, and she has yet to realize it.

This is in one of only five states that swung towards McCain to boot. Palin is in quite bad straits, to be generous. I almost want to see her nominated just so I can watch the red state-blue state paradigm crumble as she fails to reach 100 EVs.

If TN, which swung against a black guy named Hussein in 2008 would vote for the same black guy named Hussein over Palin, uh, then Palin is a pathetic loser.

I've got to say, I don't think she'd do well but I think the Palin vote is underpolling compared to what she'd get in an actual election. Most of the Republicans saying they wouldn't vote for her would end up voting for her over Obama. She'd do better than her poll numbers because people don't want to say they'd vote for her.

Out comes the "child with a daisy" ad from 1964.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN3B7yrWDjU
Or maybe the "Bear in the woods" from 1984.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpwdcmjBgNA
Choose your metaphor. It could be sharks, snakes, or big cats this time.
Here's what happens: if people generally know that they will face ridicule for even putting up a "Palin '12" sign... they won't. People will have to go through all sorts of mental contortions to vote for her.

Yeah, if Obama is leading TN, it's more like 65% to 28% right now. Certainly not 58% to 40%.
But I'm guessing you'll just bring up Scott Brown now.

Are you comparing Obama to Jimmy Carter, or Sarah Palin to Ronald Reagan?
It's not polite to speak ill of the dead
Don't insult Reagan like that! lol
