Maybe she'll do even better than George Clooney did for that seat back in 2008.

She's been one of those people pushing the faux "War on Women," right? Yeah, that will play real well in Kentucky.

On a serious note, there's talk of McConnell being primaried. I think he and Rand have been gettin along (Rand wants to seem acceptable to the leadership because he's delusional enough to think he can win the Presidential nomination in 2016. A very sad, disturbed family...) so that wing of the party in KY will probably be kept in line. Any non-libertarian grassroots types looking at waging a credible primary challenge?

From USmagazine:

Despite the public support she's received, Kentucky native Judd isn't setting up any exploratory committees just yet.
"I cherish Kentucky, heart and soul, and while I'm very honored by the consideration, we have just finished an election, so let's focus on coming together to keep moving America's families, and especially our kids, forward," Judd told Us Weekly in a statement Wednesday.

Oh yeah, she's running.

She should launch her campaign from New York.

She lives in Tennessee. If democrats want to pick this seat up, Beshear should be the nominee.

Beshear said his 2011 re-election campaign was his last and that he would serve the full term.

My first thought is that she doesn't have a prayer, but hey, Al Franken's in there.

AThere are sooo many more credible, popular and electable candidates than Ashley frickin Judd. State Auditor Adam Edelen, Attorney General Jack Conway, Secretary of State Alison Grimes, Former Congressman Ben Chandler. But because she's a movie star interested in politics she should run for Senate. This is the craziness that will lead to Democratic Nominee Liz Warren and landslide defeat in 2016.

That's a poor comparison.
Al Franken is a wonk and was a close confidant of Paul Wellstone. He wasn't a celebrity that thought one day that it would be "cool" if he was elected senator.

At least Warren has credibility.

The Franken comparison is weak for another reason: he was running in a state that was receptive to his views.

In other news, Conway apparently declined to run as well.

The best shot is with Grimes.

Wonder how much better Ashley Judd would do in coal country. Being white really helps.

And that "cool" angle is exactly how Judd would be characterized by her opponents.
