Since Hugh liked this one so much I thought I would give it a repost

Breathed truly was one of the great political cartoonists of all time.

If you are unfamiliar with hsi work I suggest you pick up all the Bloom County and Outland collections you can find.

I strongly reccomend One Last Little Peek, 1980-1995: The Final Strips, the Special Hits, the Inside Tips.  Not just for what was, at the time, his final strips to appear in print, but for the little stories at the end from his cartooning career.  of special note are the letters he recieved from Leonard "Mr. Spock" Nimoy, the time he spoke with Ronald Reagan while pantless and the letter he recieved from Caspar Weinberger.  The last one contains more wisdom than you usually get from politicians.

I also recommend his children books, especially A Wish For Wings That Work.  Don't read the reviews for this one,  one of them gives away the full plot.  If you haev children, but this book now.  No child i know is without it simply because I buy it for each and every one.  Give it a read and I bet you will do the same.

His other Christmas book, Red Ranger Came Calling, is equally excellent.

You won't see this in "Garfield".

Bloom County was the best comic strip of the '80s.
