Well I don't actually want to get rid of the proceding as he's an important contributer to this forum.

If I did want to get rid of him however it would kind of make sense to throw him back to the late 18th century, to early 19th century. If he wasn't gilliotined during the revolution he'd probably disappair during one of Napoleon's invasions of some far off country.

I suspect Gramps would be happy serving in the court of King Henry VIII, at some sufficiently high level to get a good "benefits" package. I know I certainly would be (having seen the series The Tudors). So back to the 16th century Gramps goes.

Hmmm - maybe 1890's get a whiff of true laissez faire as long as he was someone who isn't from a wealthy background Tongue

50 years into the future, when there will no doubt be a great big government paradise.

A Dickensian poorhouse.  He can feel for once what his "socialism for the rich, capitalism for everybody else" policies truly feel like.

WTF?  Also, sorry Dickens, but I'm not in favor of government poorhouses (or government anything else, for that matter).

Well, it's either a government poorhouse... or whichever militia/local lord is running the show just throws you in the dungeon/executes you summarily for not having a job.

It's not as if the development of various social policies in England was some grand, idealistic experiment... but a slow evolution of the natural way of things over a long period of time.  Poorhouses were simply the response by the ruling elite to keeping the riff-raff off the streets in the newly developing industrial era cities.  Eventually that turned into full welfare benefits which coincided with a rise in workforce participation, a higher quality of life, and much higher worker productivity.

There literally has never been a point in human history where your idea of capitalist anarchism has been workable.  It just goes against human nature... somebody will take advantage of the system and proclaim himself the godhead and whether you like it or not, will use his armed thugs to beat you into submission.

Suddenly Barack Obama doesn't seem so bad anymore.  At least you can tell him you think he's a stupid piece of sh**t without getting your throat cut.

He's polish, so sending him anywhere between 1750 and 1991 would be an affront. Tongue

Kal has really understood me Wink.

For Antonio:

France, 1871: up to him to decide if he survives or if he is shot in front of a certain wall Grin
Or France 1934-37, with the satisfaction he eventually wins Wink
(France, 1997 is too obvious !)

Italy... errr... the late 1940s ?
No ! Italy 73-71 BC !
The only socialist moment in Italian history Cheesy !

Echoing Kal's correct Moscow 1937 would kinda be stupid, but, let's see... maybe Moscow during the Stalin-Trotsky power struggles?
