The liberals all hate her for obvious reasons and it seems most of the libertarians do too.

I dislike her because she's got an atrocious writing style and little to no structure first and foremost, then I dislike what she espouses.

No, but we should try to recruit a token Objectivist. Also a token Larouchite.

An Islamic fundamentalist, sharia law-proponent would also be cool (like an Arab version of jmcsft).

She's Pro-Baby Murder. I'm from Oklahoma and just used baby murder instead of choice. Take a guess.

If she lived today, she would probably be banned multiple times and make dozens of sock accounts.

And nobody would ever publish her book.

Basically a Manichean witch lacking any perspective or peripheral vision whatsoever, but gosh I loved her novel Fountainhead. Yes I did. I love architecture, and the way the kick ass guy with talent just ate the over-entitled and under-talented boring unimaginative establishment alive.

Atlas Shrugged gave away the punch line on about page 20, and then had about 200 more pages of padding, turgidly written, before I said, you know, I need to just put this tome down, and get blasted, and never pick it up again. I am just not into that kind of literary abuse.

That is my little highly subjective reaction to her.

The fact that Ayn Rand could exist shows everything wrong with Western (and, specifically, American) society.

Uh, books (plural).

Oh, and yes, reprints of her works are being published today.

I don't like her but as opposed to some people here I don't think that views I disagree with should not exist or that I should expose myself only to those who agree with and reinforce my existing views.

I enjoyed reading Atlas Shrugged and it gave me something to think about, even though it was poorly written and advanced a confused and horrible world view.

This is essentially how I feel about her now. When I read Atlas Shrugged for the first time at age 15, I thought, "F--k me, this is amazing!". I remained enamored with her for another 6 months before I realized I had been duped. I find her writing interesting in that it can have such a massive appeal to so many people who don't realize how barbaric it is.

(Besides, the ARI is kind enough to subsidize my interest in Rand's philosophy. I wrote an essay on The Fountainhead that won me $50, which I subsequently donated to a local homeless shelter. Suck it, Ayn. Tongue)

No.  There would be no "books" as the first book would never be picked up.

A nutty, Scientology-like cult leader who didn't even have consistent principles.  A few pithy quotes marooned in an excess of tedium.
