I saw a town map for the results of the various questions on the ballot this year, and it surprised me that Dedham had an exact tie on Question 4 (for those of you who don't know, that's the question about weed).

SILENT CAL NICE... oh to imagine MA electing a laissez faire capitalist.. How times have changed

Not to mention he was previously the Mayor of Northampton, which is now the most stereotypically liberal town imaginable.

Kind of funny that Blackstone, the only town to vote for Davis, voted Republican in 2016.

I’ve been curious to see 1992 – for all of lower New England – could you do it by town here??

Did Perot win any towns in MA, CT and/or RI?? It seems to me that the places in New England where Perot did best were the ones which swung most to Trump in 2016.

1972 is another one I have been after. Did McGovern win even any precinct in New Hampshire that election?

Off the top of my head, I don't recall Perot winning any communities in lower New England - obviously he won some in Maine.

If homelycooking hasn't done it yet (I would assume he has) I can definitely do a 1972 map of New England; I should have data for Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.

Now that I've addressed that, I'd like to mention that I had a bit of a hiatus for a few years, but stumbled upon a hardcover copy of election data I had and have gotten back into doing this sort of thing. I've been filling out the Vermont page last night and this morning.

Apologies for any unanswered questions from years past in this thread, but I can take on some requests - provided I have the data.

Hello again! Not the most sophisticated presentation, but here is 1992 Presidential:

It gave me pause to think that I made this seven years ago.

Well I guess I had a brainfart - surprised Perot won Middleborough.

HC, did you do 1972? I'd love to do it myself, but not if you've already made it  Tongue

I'd be interested in seeing a map of when each city/town last voted the opposite party for President.

Here's something of the sort: the last vote for Republicans in CT. Hartford last voted GOP in 1924.

Thanks! I'm surprised to see none form 1992 - is that "1996" a mistake that really means last voted GOP in 1992 since 1996 saw Democratic control in New England grow very substantially?

I'd love to see a town map of when last voted Democratic, though there wouldn't be that many beyond the 2008 and 1996 near-sweeps of the region I imagine?

Anyone here have Connecticut town level map results from 1952-2000? Finding town level maps is really hard for those elections.

Is there a reason none of these maps have been incorporated into the main electoral atlas corpus?

I’d love to see 1952 MA Senate, 1958 MA Senate and 1960 Presidential election (all of NE)

I wonder if you could draw a map of towns voting for:

  • Landon in 1936 and McGovern in 1972
  • Landon in 1936 and Mondale in 1984

There are certainly quite a few of both in Massachusetts, as opposed to only three of the former (Washtenaw in Michigan, Jackson in Illinois and Deuel in South Dakota) and four of the latter (Tompkins in New York, Keweenaw in Michigan, Ringgold in Iowa and Magoffin in Kentucky) amongst counties in the rest of the nation.

This Thread is head three posts in the last six months, about a dozen in the last 2 years, and maybe 30 in the last five or six years. Why is it still stickied?

6 months and two posts. Still say it needs to be unstickied, no matter how good of a map maker Dallas fan was (emphasis 'was').

Makes me wonder if Hartland Town, CT has always voted Republican. Also, how come so many towns voted for Goldwater in New Hampshire?!

Not to wax my own car, but I'd contend that it's still better material than "Describe a Clinton 92/Dole 96/Gore 00 voter?" or "Describe a Goldwater-Obama voter." Unless that's the content you think should be on the first page of this board.

A lot of those towns are in Carroll County, which was simply rock-ribbed Republican. Nixon got nearly 80% of the vote here in 1960... also I'm almost positive I added Vermont to this map at some point.
