Davis actually denounced the Klan after the Convention, but Convention's refusal of Al Smith's candidacy and Smith's call to condemn the Klan in the platform was more ubiquitous.

I'd love to see Brooke's Senate races, especially '66.

And now the 1966 Senate election.

Edward Brooke (R): 1,213,473 60.7%
Endicott Peabody (D): 774,761 38.7%
Others: 11,715  0.6%

thanks! interesting Suffolk Co and Springfield going for Peabody but not Worcester.
I wonder when was the last time Cambridge and Boston went for different candidates.

Many thanks to homelycooking! He combined the '64 results.

nice!  I think it's interesting to compare with hc's 2008 map:
Goldwater's wins in NH were more widespread across the state than McCain, but still quite a but less overall.  I do know that Vt actually had Obama do better than LBJ, and this would be neat to see if the data is available.

I feel like this one portends a great deal about the shape of coming political changes.

Do you happen to know if the Fmr. Mayor of Newton won his town against Ted Kennedy in the 64 Senate race?

so about 40%. I guess that's not too bad given the circumstances.
