The interesting split here is the class divide, with GOP voters splitting along income and education lines. Palin has 21% among non-college graduates and 20% among those who make less than $90,000, but only 8% among college graduates and 8% among those who make more than $90,000.
Romney is the reverse. 22% among college graduates and 20% among >$90,000 incomes, but only 13% among non-college graduates and 15% among <$90,000 incomes.

Nationwide polls for primaries, esspecially at this stage, are worthless by definition.

Nationwide primary polls are always useless.
Palin's demographics are weird in this one.

Romney leading 50+ age group is the only thing interesting. As long as no GOP candidate invigorates the youth (lol), then he might be helped by low turnout.

How on earth is Palin doing better than any other candidate among Liberals and Moderates?

Reading the 3012 boards dulls one's sense of irony.
Seriously. How many times can we read about the Obamachine 3000 pulling ahead of the Reagantronix QLZ in the race for Mars Mutant Colony's 48 electoral votes? Sheesh!

Those focused on government spending and power are most likely to favor Huckabee or Romney, while those focused on the economy favor Romney or Palin. Republicans who say social and moral values are most important favor Huckabee or Palin.

Gallup released another crosstab for this poll, showing that Gingrich does better among Fox News viewers and Palin does worse:

She does better among "occasional viewers" though. I imagine occasional are looney tunes who don't even keep up on current events but claim Fox as their source when they do.

I would assume that "frequent" Fox News viewers have (on average) higher education levels than the average GOP primary voter. The least educated voters probably don't watch cable news (or any news) at all.

Palin does worse with regular viewers than either of the other groups. I wonder why.

Clearly the solution is to privatize presidential elections.
So, in less than four years, get excited for the 2016 MetLife Financial U Pick The Prez Extravaganza. If you tweet a picture of your completed ballot with the hashtag #ivoted, you could win a trip for two to the inauguration or an iTunes gift card.

Fox News viewers are also very old, and Palin is usually stronger with younger voters than the olds.
