In Europe they dont circumsize why do alot of americans? we arent jewish. well i dont believe ovver 60% of the population is so why is it done?

anyone know why we do  it when it is a jewish practice but in europe, australia, south america, africa asia they dont

It's strange though, in some parts of the country almost none of the guys my age are circumcised, and in other parts almost all are. That's my experience from talking with people about it anyway.

The religious ritual is carried over through Christianity (though it looks like Europe didn't read that part) and I suppose Islam (though I have no idea) all coming from the same roots of Abraham.

Is it really that hard to just pull the darn foreskin back and wash?  I imagine it's no different than cleaning the weird folds in your ear that get dried shampoo caked up in them -- but we don't remove those.

As for the OP, from what I've heard, it has to do with a few factors.

1) It's an extra source of money for the doctors.
2) It supposedly makes little boys less likely to wack off.
3) It looks "normal," which is a reason that only exists because of the first two.

I think something is fishy when you see medical associations all around Canada and Europe saying circumcision is unnecessary, while American medical associations insist that it is.

well apparently it is very common to get an infection there. so obv it is a tad harder for people then a genious like yourself.
and i do wash where the shapoo goes in your ear.

Im against abortion; the fertilized embryo is a life and should be protected.

Im against circumsition without permission from the individual; i think the individual should get a say if someones going to cut his bits off. i dont care for relgious ceremonies. until god comes down and waves annd tells me where heaven exactly is and that people when they die actually magically go there then i  might consider if religion  is above the law. at the moment its all hogwash its all a form of social  control making money for the pastors, rabbis priests bla die bla and they are good at marketing themselves just like directors of charities do. but as we stand we have one life one crack it and when we die we go nowhere. so the law is the law.

One of the flaws of a for-profit healthcare system actually; doctors will jump at the opportunity to make a few hundred bucks on a useless procedure.  Of course, that's a classic case of the non-aggression principle not being applied.
