Sen. Claire McCaskill has been aggressive in promoting oversight and transparency for congressional travel, introducing a reform bill that cracks down on overseas travel for lawmakers.

But when it comes to her own domestic flights, the Missouri Democrat has enjoyed friendly skies: She’s spent nearly $76,000 in public funds since 2007 to fly on a charter plane she co-owns with her husband and other investors, a POLITICO analysis of public records show.

Agreed. Not gonna be much of a factor here. Gonna be all about the bread and butter issues: the economy, unemployment, gas prices, etc.

Air McCaskill is losing altitude.  She didn't pay the required Missouri state property taxes on her plane, either:

And, as the Politico article states: "On top of this, McCaskill signed on in February as a co-sponsor of Senate legislation that would fire federal employees if they are “seriously delinquent” in paying their own federal taxes. "

Such a non-story, she's paying the taxes and by 2012, none of this will be being talked about. Tax issues end up being not as damaging as they could be to officeholders many times.

^ Sadly true, look at the majority of Obama's cabinet.

I still think it's a hole that can be exploited to make her weaker (and I still believe she'll be defeated probably by Steelman) but this won't be THE issue that decides that. Unless there's some pattern of not paying taxes on anything that continues...

It's an issue that reinforces a narrative that makes McCaskill appear slightly less folksy.
